Dorothy Jean Dillard was born to Emmett and Rosie Dillard on November 15th, 1934 in Kilgore, TX. She grew up in Laird Hill, a community right outside Kilgore

After high school, Dorothy moved to Dallas, TX where she met and married Emile Melvin Douglas, Jr. on April 23, 1955. To this union, four children were born – three sons and one daughter. While Emile and Dorothy resided in Texas, they were blessed with their first son. After moving to Tulsa, OK in 1961, they were blessed with three more children.

In 1970, Dorothy went to work for Zebco manufacturing fishing equipment. During her time there, she enjoyed the companionship of countless friends and took special delight in the annual fishing tournaments with her co-workers. After working more than 26 years for Zebco, Dorothy retired in 1996. Dorothy relished in her retirement with her husband, Emile, and loved traveling, fishing, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Her loving husband of 48 years, Emile, preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Emile Douglas, III of Dallas, TX, Steven Douglas (Angie) of Tulsa, OK, Michael Douglas (Gladys) of Tulsa, OK, and daughter Alicia Douglas of Columbus, OH. She had a sister to precede her in death, Ruth Cotton. She also leaves behind one sister, Emma Wheeler of Dallas, TX.

She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren, Emile IV, Chandler, Micah, Alicia, Jonathan, Cameron, Brooklyn and Camille and three great – grandchildren, Emarie, Emile V and Emmanuel. She will also be greatly missed by numerous other family members and loved ones.
